The "Zhangming County Annals" of the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty states: "Qinglian Township, fifteen li southwest of the county, is called Manbo Du." It is said that when Li Bai's mother was washing clothes here, a carp jumped into the basket, cooked and ate it, and thus gave birth to Bai. It is also known locally as Mi Po Du. Panjiang was originally the boundary between ethnic minorities and the Han people. There were ethnic minority women ferries here, hence the name "Manpo Ferry". Later, I found it unseemly and changed my name to Manbo Du. Qinglian was part of Changlong County, Mianzhou, Jiannan Dao during the Tang Dynasty. To avoid the great power of Emperor Xuanzong Li Longji, it was renamed Changming County. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Zhangming County, Long 'an Prefecture (with its administrative center in Pingwu). In 1958, Zhangming County and Jiangyou County were merged and are now under the jurisdiction of Jiangyou City (a provincial-level county-level city under the administration of Mianyang City).
